Bismarck YP Chill-N-Bowl
The second annual Chill-N-Bowl at Midway Lanes on February 27th was a huge success. It started with 14 four-person teams and their crock pots full of chili and ended with just two teams dancing off to "Y.M.C.A." by the Village People for the coveted Chill-N-Bowl traveling trophy.
The turnout was exceptional, with twice as many teams participating as last year. The number of people who came to judge chili and to socialize was also very good. A silent auction was added to the event this year. We had many very generous donations from local businesses and raised $888 for Capitol Shakespeare in memory of Crystal Reid.
The Chill-N-Bowl champion was crowned following two games of bowling and lots of chili tasting and judging. Everyone at the event was eligible to be a chili judge. The chili was rated on a scale of one to five. The bowling and chili were equally weighted and the scores were combined to get the final score. In the end, there was a tie between the team sponsored by Widmer Roel and Petro Hunt. It was decided that a dance-off to "Y.M.C.A." would be the best way to break the tie, and Widmer Roel came out victorious. It was a great ending to an exciting event.
